Situation

Ukraine has been at war since 2014, with an escalation of fighting since the beginning of 2022. The direct consequence, as in any armed conflict, is the number of amputation victims.

The main causes are weapons and landmines, but also the lack of medications such as insulin.

We witnessed this during our numerous humanitarian actions, where we met these patients. We provided them with direct assistance, but we want to go further by offering them a rehabilitation solution.

In collaboration with Chernivtsi hospitals, we conducted a census of amputation victims, and the findings are devastating.

Our idea ?

Design custom orthopedic prosthetics tailored to patients’ needs using three-dimensional (3D) printing technology.

3D printing is a revolutionary manufacturing method due to its speed and low production costs.

Thanks to this new manufacturing method, we will enable amputees to regain autonomy and resume a nearly normal life.

Our project

For several months, we have conducted extensive research on both standard prosthetic models and innovative prosthetic technologies.

Our choice has therefore settled on 3D printed prosthetics.

Although we eventually want to produce prosthetics in Ukraine, the current situation in the country does not allow us to do so (issues with energy supply, lack of adequate training, etc.).
